Hello! I am Amanda and have been working at the center since April of 2018. I am currently a teacher’s aid at the center and have worked in most of the rooms, mainly in rooms five and nine. I love children and enjoyed babysitting and being a nanny throughout high school. I have also worked at Lasting Impressions in Brighton, Michigan as a substitute teacher’s aide. Also through that program, I worked in the temporary Saturday day care center that was offered at Plante Moran in Southfield during the tax season. Currently, I am studying to become a teacher at Madonna University where my majors are early childhood and elementary education. I am currently in my second semester there and will graduate in three years (since it is a five-year program). I utilize the knowledge I gain from the center by applying the educational theories to how I interact and teach the children. I grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan and continue to live there with my parents, younger brother, small dog named Bentley, and a cat named Chloe. I attended elementary and middle school at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and attended high school at North Farmington. My Catholic background also assists me at the center since I am able to provide answers to young children’s questions about the Catholic faith.
My favorite movie is The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and my favorite TV series is Grey’s Anatomy. I listen to all categories of music, but dislike rap and country. My favorite food is lasagna and my favorite color is blue. Spring and fall are my favorite seasons. I rode horses in middle and high school and owned my own horse named Cole. While I have since sold my horse due to a lack of time to spend with him, horses are still my favorite animal. My dream vacation would be to go to Hawaii and ride a horse along the beach. I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me as I have enjoyed getting to know your children!
