Ms. Wanda
My name is Wanda Johnson and I began working at St. Mary Child Care Center in April 2018 as an assistant teacher. I have five years of experience working with children of all ages. I worked as an assistant teacher for 1st and 2nd grade students in a Christian school and I also worked with children with disabilities during my internship at Hicks Elementary school as a teacher’s aide. I earned my Associate’s Degree from Schoolcraft College in May 2016 with a discipline as a Special Needs Paraprofessional. I remained on the Dean’s list as an honor roll student for the entire two years of my schooling.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan to two wonderful parents Vera and Timothy Ross. I’m the second oldest of 6 siblings. Three girls and three boys, one deceased. I’m married with five beautiful children, three girls and two boys. I have four grandchildren two boys and one girl. I lost my second oldest child to gun violence in 2012. Losing my son was very difficult but through God’s grace I’m still standing.
I enjoy traveling, going to the movies, singing and cooking delicious meals. My favorite color is black and I love the summer months. I enjoy watching basketball but I’m not a big sports fan or animal lover. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love gifts and it’s around my birthday, December 22nd. In closing, I’m a very well-rounded individual and I enjoy sharing my love and time with the world.
