Hello, I’m Sister Beatrice Marie Plamondon and I have been with the Felician Sisters since 1964. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Madonna University, a Master of Arts in Mathematics from The University of Detroit and a Master of Science in Education from The University of Dayton. I began my career with the Felician Sisters in 1968 as a teacher, (mathematics and religious education), for grades 2-6 and 9-12 at various Catholic schools throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. During 1968 – 1991, I not only was a teacher, but served as a principal as well. From 1991 – 1993 I provided pastoral ministry to the parish members of Holy Family Parish in Ontonagon, Michigan. I also ministered to the imprisoned, the sick and infirmed. My next journey led me to Pastoral Associate from 1994 – 2016 in Bay City, Michigan. Later, in 2016, I was called to minister and take on the role of Hospitality Associate for Senior Clergy Village in Livonia. Finally, in July 2019 I accepted a new assignment as Mission Leader for The Felician Sisters Child Care Centers, Inc.
I am excited to begin my new position as Mission Leader for St. Mary Child Care Center and Montessori Center of Our Lady as I enjoy working with the children. They are so precious. These two early childhood programs are sponsored by the Felician Sisters of North America, whose core values include: Respect for Human Dignity, Compassion, Transformation, Solidarity with the Poor and Justice & Peace.
As the Mission Leader, I will most certainly need your good-hearted cooperation in assisting me to develop your children in a spiritual way. The teachers and I will present an age-appropriate religious education program for your children. Each child will be taught through weekly lessons with hands-on projects, songs, stories and sharing using a Catholic curriculum and lessons relevant to all children, regardless of religious affiliation. Now more than ever, we realize the need for moral values and spiritual ideals in everyday life. Children will learn they have a right to self-respect and to respect others.
Fostering the mission and vision of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, Foundress of the Felician Sisters, is very important. Blessed Mary Angela’s desire was to instill in each child a feeling of well-being and a positive self-esteem.
As I embark upon this journey as Mission Leader with teachers, children and families of our Centers, I will appreciate your zealous support. I will be happy to help you at any time.
May you continue to receive blessings from our gracious God!
